REGINALD THORPE
Former US Marine Corp (USMC) Sniper, Staff Sergeant (SSgt) Reginald Thorpe Sr. is an Instructor for ASA. He was a qualified expert shooter in the Marines. Reginald attended Sniper School taught by Gunnery Sergeant (GSgt) Carlos Hathcock, who is well known and had a book written about him, for more about GSgt. Hathcock, check out the book,
“Marine Sniper: 93 Confirmed Kills.”
When Reginald Thorpe Sr attended Sniper School, the Marine Corp was doing a story on “The Deadly Skill” featuring GSgt. Hathcock for the Marine Corp magazine, “Leatherneck.” In this issue of the magazine, there is a picture of him.
After graduating from Sniper school, the Marine Corp placed Reginald on its coveted Marine Corp Rifle and Pistol team where he participated in all Armed Forces Invitational Shooting tournaments. He also became a Primary Marksmanship Instructor (PMI) for the USMC and went on to teach thousands of Marines how to shoot.
As a civilian, Reginald continues his expert shooting skills as he did while in the Marine Corp because of the fundamental principles of shooting that he has learned from his experience in the Marine Corp.
Reginald Thorpe is an NRA Certified Instructor for Basic Pistol, Maryland Qualified Handgun Instructor and Range Safety Officer and has completed all courses needed to acquire his Concealed Carry and Wear and Carry permits in Utah, Maryland and DC.
